Forever 21 has clinched a spot at the upcoming Mall at Bay Plaza in the North Bronx, which is slated to open August 14.
The discount fashion retailer signed a lease for a 15,000-square-foot space at the 780,000-square-foot retail development, located at the intersection of I-95 and Hutchinson River Parkway.
Mall developer Prestige Properties actively sought the chain clothing store to join the ranks of Victoria’s Secret, H&M, Macy’s and JC Penney at the mall. Prestige has leased approximately 80 percent of the development space, the Commercial Observer reported.
While the developers declined to release the terms of the lease, Jerry Wilkis, who represented Prestige in the deal, previously told the New York Times that mall rents ranged from $100 per square foot to more than $200 per square foot. [NYO] — Sasha von Oldershausen
