WEEKENDEDITION A $5 million Connecticut mansion caught fire this week, leaving little more than a smoldering skeleton behind.

The 10,700-square-foot home in Middlebury was owner by contractor and motivational speaker Lawrence Janesky and his wife, Wendy. They purchased the home in 2007 for $5.37 million, according to land records cited by the Hartford Courant.

Because the Middlebury home was isolated from water mains, firefighters from several towns in Litchfield and Fairfield counties responded with two dozen water tankers, according the New York Post.
