The Red Apple Group, led by Gristedes owner and ex-mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis, has unveiled renderings and released new details for a planned mixed-use development in Downtown Brooklyn.

The 32-story tower at 86 Fleet Place and Willoughby Street is to contain a total of 440 apartments, not the 191 that was previously reported and is listed on the building permit filing, according to New York YIMBY. The units will divide a total of 385,000 square feet of residential space, and an additional 10,000 square feet of retail will be located on the ground floor.

The structure is to be the final piece of a four-building development planned for the south side of Myrtle Avenue, also orchestrated by the Red Apple Group and designed by Dattner Architects. Goldstein, Hill & West, meanwhile, Will Design 86 Fleet Street.

“I bought the properties when you had to come here with two guns,” Catsimatidis said previously at the groundbreaking of one of the buildings, “just in case one of the guns runs out of bullets.” [NY YIMBY]Julie Strickland
