The French government has sold a Fifth Avenue townhouse where consulate staffers lived for decades for $36.4 million.

The 30-foot-wide Carnegie Hill townhouse is located between 95th and 96th Streets on the Upper East Side, and boasts views of Central Park.

The buyer is listed as 1143 5th ave LLC, an entity affiliated with United Corporate Services, which provides services to legal and financial professionals.

The French government has been offloading its international real estate holdings for the past few years, and opted to replace this prized property with a half dozen more modest apartments.

Jed Garfield of Leslie J. Garfield listed the property for $32.5 million in the spring. The over-the-ask deal went into contract in June and closed last month.

Garfield declined to comment.
