As the city’s commercial brokers wheel and deal in and around the cavernous Las Vegas Convention Center this week, their colleagues on the residential side aren’t far behind.

A number of residential players – including Keller Williams NYC’s Ilan Bracha, MNS’ Andrew Barrocas, Reba Miller of RP Miller Realty Group, Rick Rosa and Mark Menendez of Douglas Elliman and Nest Seekers International’s Ryan Serhant — were seen buzzing around the Las Vegas Strip over the past few days, taking advantage of the opportunity to rub shoulders with developers, lenders and bigwigs on the commercial side.

“You’re basically taking every important player in New York City and putting them in one spot, and it happens to be in Vegas,” said Serhant, who took a suite at the Encore in the Wynn Las Vegas. “You’re doing like 20 meetings at the same time, and you’re all around the cabana.”

Barrocas said on the strip, one kept “running into the same people, going out to dinners and clubs.”

“There’s definitely more [to discuss than retail],” he added. “It wasn’t necessarily talking about shopping centers.”

Robin Schneiderman, managing director of Halstead Property Development Marketing, said networking at ICSC was “a great way to stay on the pulse of deals and market trends.”

And as for the conference itself? Fuhgeddaboudit. Even on the commercial side, some big names either avoid it altogether or put in mere cameos. Likewise, many of the residential brokers skipped out on the panels and stuck to the parties.

“I didn’t even go to the convention,” Serhant said.“It has nothing to do with me.”
