Andrea Pirlo, the man they call “the Architect” for his influence on the soccer pitch, has expensive taste in Manhattan real estate.

The Italian soccer star – a former Juventus and Italian national team legend — now plays for New York City FC and is looking to score a penthouse in Midtown, according to the New York Post.

He recently viewed a top-floor penthouse at the Zucker Organization’s 205 East 59th Street in Midtown – just a short ride on the 4 train from Yankee Stadium, where his team plays – listed for just under $30,000 a month.

The 2,700-square-foot, full-floor apartment has three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and five private outdoor areas. The penthouse also features 13-foot ceilings, an eat-in chef’s kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows and a wood-burning fireplace.

Pirlo’s new club is said to be mulling an eventual move from Yankee Stadium to Columbia University’s Baker Athletics Complex in Inwood. [NYP]Rey Mashayekhi
