Artist Abby Leigh buys 455 CPW duplex for $8M

The apartment has a circular living room inside a castle-like turret

Renowned visual artist Abby Leigh picked up a combined pair of apartments at the castle-like 455 Central Park West, paying $8 million.

The 5,300-square-foot, 5-bedroom Upper West Side duplex features a large, open, circular living room, built within the buildings conical turrets.

The building was once the home of the New York Cancer Hospital, before becoming a residential facility for Columbia University faculty. It now houses 17 luxury condo units.

Leigh, widow of Tony-winning composer Mitch Leigh, has had work included in the public collections of museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim and the Whitney.
