Susan Bloomberg and the penthouse at One Kenmare Square

Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s ex-wife, Susan Bloomberg, got the $11.5 million she wanted back in 2009 for her Soho penthouse. But the $1.5 million price hike she implemented when re-listing the apartment earlier this year proved too ambitious.

Citing city records, the New York Observer reported that an LLC named Cirrus 210 snapped up the penthouse in the glassy condominium designed by Andre Balazs at One Kenmare Square. The apartment had been on the market since July for $13 million with Arlene Weidberg, a senior vice president at Halstead Property. [more]

  • Susan Bloomberg and the penthouse at One Kenmare Square

The Mayor’s ex must really believe in the recovery of luxury real estate prices in New York City.
After a one-and-a-half-year hiatus, Susan Bloomberg’s One Kenmare Square penthouse has returned to the market with a new broker and a $1.5 million price bump.

The former wife of Mayor Mike Bloomberg, whose primary residence is a 26-acre horse farm in North Salem, N.Y., is now asking $13 million for her 4,472-square-foot spread, which comprises the entire top floor of the 210 Lafayette Street condominium and has some 4,031 square feet of outdoor space. The “double penthouse,” as the listing by Halstead Property broker Arlene Weidberg describes it, is actually two units for which Bloomberg paid roughly $10.3 million in 2006. Together, they have five bedrooms, a private rooftop, and two of pretty much everything else: kitchens, terraces, fireplaces and powder rooms.  [more]

The home of the late Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein, a club deejay and frequent target of celebrity tabloids known for his relationships with starlets like Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore, is on the market for $1.795 million. The One Kenmare Square one-bedroom apartment at 210 Lafayette Street between Spring and Broome streets was the site of DJ AM’s accidental drug overdose in August of last year. The 1,147-square-foot condo was developed by Andre Balazs and is listed by Prudential Douglas Elliman SVP and wunderkind Jared Seligman.
