    One half of the Brooklyn-based architect team behind notable projects that include 245 10th Avenue, Della Valle Bernheimer, has stepped down, Cured reported. Jared Della Valle, principal, resigned to focus entirely on Alloy LLC, a real estate development firm he co-founded in 2006. The firm will endure under the name Bernheimer Architecture. Della Valle Bernheimer was founded in 1996, and counts 23 Beekman Place, 459 West 18th Street and the affordable housing project at Glenmore Gardens among its other New York City accomplishments.   • Rudolph House may get landmark status

    The Rudolph House, designed and then purchased by famed architect Paul Rudolph in 1965, may be on its way to landmark status. According to the New York Observer, the Landmarks Preservation Commission has taken the first steps toward landmarking the home at 23 Beekman Place, a move that many preservationists are applauding, as many of Rudolph’s works have reportedly been demolished — including a high school he designed in Florida, which was destroyed this summer. The home became the center of controversy in 2007, when owner Steve Campus sued the owner of the neighboring 21 Beekman Place over a 27-foot wall he constructed, which Campus said blocked his view.
