    New York City residential brokerage Citi Habitats unveiled its new iPhone application today, allowing users to browse all the firm’s listings from their mobile device. The announcement comes on the heels of Trulia.com’s new iPad application, which it announced via Twitter today. Citi Habitats’ free application includes a built-in location finder, which displays both apartment listings and dining and nightlife options nearby. TRD [more]

  • Marcus & Millichap unveils iPhone app

    Commecial real estate investment firm Marcus & Millichap has released its first iPhone application, the company announced yesterday. The free app, available on iTunes for the Apple-produced phone, provides users with a Rolodex of Marcus & Millichap agents. After browsing the agent rosters, users are able to instantly e-mail or text message the agent of their choice from the application, which can also be used on the Apple iPad device.

    Richard Peltz, senior vice president and chief information officer with the firm, said that the application is “the very first commercial real estate investment app on the market that allows investor clients to communicate directly with agents.” TRD [more]

    From the South Florida website: Even with the advent of electronic foreclosure auctions and online sales, most realtors still wield an ancient relic: the hard-copy paper Multiple Listing Service sheet, a vestige of real estate’s past that gives customers a small picture of a potential home and a large amount of sometimes-indecipherable sales language. One South Florida company is looking to use the iPad to overhaul that experience. “Right now when you decide you want to go out and look at a property, the best information a broker can provide is a printout of the MLS sheet,” said Bradley Nelson, marketing director at One Sotheby’s.

  • A new application for the iPhone will put foreclosures in the palms of
    people’s hands. The Complete Realty Suite, to be released free on
    iTunes, will be available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It is a
    searchable database of foreclosures and provides details about
    foreclosed properties. It could be especially useful for bidders at
    electronic auctions, when time is of the essence. The program,

    Commercial real estate services firm CB Richard Ellis announced today
    the launch of its new iPhone application. While it appears to be the
    first corporate iPhone application launched by a commercial real estate
    firm, Cushman & Wakefield is currently in development of a
    research-related iPhone app, according to a company spokesperson. “Creating a true iPhone application requires serious planning and development, which we are in the process of doing,” the spokesperson said. “Our application will be truly client-facing, and we look forward to its launch.” CBRE’s app, introduced today, allows users to search the company’s office space worldwide and access contact information for CBRE staff.
