Halstead Property named Richard Orenstein its 2012 broker of the year in New York and New Jersey, as well as broker of the year for Soho, at its annual meeting held Monday, the brokerage said today. Orenstein, who works out of the firm’s Soho office, was named top broker for 2011 as well. Other award winners include Christopher Halstead, an executive vice president and nephew of the firm’s co-founder Clark Halstead, who took home an honor for brokering the priciest sale of the year for a $40.5 million deal that closed in December. Harlem development Windows on 123 Lofts has sold out, The Real Deal has learned. Located at 129 West 123rd Street between Adam Clayton Powell and Lenox avenues, Windows on 123 Lofts includes eight full-floor lofts, which range from 1,441 square feet to 1,892 square feet in size and $895,000 to $1.3 million in price.

All the sales have closed and the building is now fully occupied, according to a statement from Halstead Property Development Marketing, the exclusive marketer. R&D Development developed the property, with Halstead’s Boland Team, led by Julia Boland, directing sales, the statement said. [more]

What began as a New Year’s resolution back in January has become a reality for Julia Boland, a senior vice president and head of the Boland Group at Halstead Property. Boland last week went public with One212, billed as the first-of-its-kind iPad application and interactive tablet magazine about New York real estate.

“There was no sort of field guide for the buyer and seller,” Boland told The Real Deal, when asked about the genesis of One212. “How do you go about doing this buying and selling thing? This is really all about the consumer.” [more]
