    Southampton is telling “Today’s'” Matt Lauer to hold his horses, the New York Post reported.

    Town officials have ordered the morning show host to stop work on a renovation under way at his 40-acre horse farm. Until getting a stop-work order in late March, Lauer was converting an office building into a residence. [more]

    Matt Lauer’s long-planned horse farm on a preserve in Water Mill, Long Island, is finally coming to fruition. The “Today” host just closed on the 30-acre farm for $3 million, the New York Post reported.

    Lauer is now prepping to build an indoor riding facility, a new barn and a small nursery on the property. Local residents had objected to Lauer’s proposal, citing the size of the farm, previous reports show, but the Southampton Town Planning Board gave it the go-ahead this summer. Lauer lives in nearby Sag Harbor, an incorporated village of Southampton, reports show. [more]

    “Today” show host Matt Lauer’s plans for a horse farm next door to his Water Mill, N.Y. estate will include a number of speculative homes priced in the $4 million to $5 million range, Dan’s Hamptons reported. The property will house seven homes, each with their own swimming pool. Lauer and his wife, model Annette Roque, reportedly spent less than the $10.5 million asking price for the plot adjacent to their home. [more]

    SOMA Architects, the designers of Lower Manhattan’s controversial Park51 Islamic community center, have released new renderings (above) of the 18-story building, slated for the former Burlington Coat Factory site two blocks from the World Trade Center. Meanwhile, developer Sharif El-Gamal appeared on the “Today Show” to address the controversy as the eye-catching designs were released to the public. “This has been very unexpected. It’s been an eye-opener to see how my country, the United States, views my religion, Islam. It’s been a very humbling moment and it’s been a very sad moment for me, personally,” he told host Matt Lauer. Watch the video below. TRD

    Historic Southampton mansion Village Latch Inn is on the market for $24.75 million, according to Curbed, featuring 67 rooms and an approximately 100-year history. The building, which was renovated and refurbished in the 1970s, includes tennis courts and private villas. The highlight of its century-long tenure in the Hamptons, naturally, was the wedding of NBC star Matt Lauer, who used the spot for his nuptials.
