Development plans for two parcels on West DiLido

A plan to build a 12,000-square-foot mansion on two lots beachfront on West DiLido Drive has been withdrawn without consideration from Miami Beach’s Design Review Board, the Miami Herald reported. Latin American cable executive Ahmad Lee Kamsi, who owns the parcels, at 206 and 212 West DiLido Drive, dropped the plans after facing opposition from locals who felt that the home was out of proportion with the neighborhood. However, the Venetian Island Homeowner Association president Juergen Brendel urged neighbors not to sign a petition against it the project. [Miami Herald] —Christopher Cameron
