Developers of the Marina Palms Yacht Club & Residences, the first project of its kind in Miami-Dade County in 20 years, named Coastal Construction as its general contractor. The size of the award was not disclosed.

Construction on the first of two towers is expected to begin this month after the developers began converting contracts into hard sales in July.

“We are honored to have been chosen to construct this project which will bring the luxurious yachting lifestyle back to Miami,” Coastal’s chairman and chief executive Tom Murphy said in a release.

Affiliates of The Plaza Group and The DevStar Group are developing the 14-acre waterfront property, which will include two 25-story towers that will house a total of 468 units and a full-service yacht club and marina with 112 boat slips for yachts of more than 90 feet. The developers refused The Real Deal‘s request to divulge the value of the contract with Coastal Construction.

The project at 172nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami was designed by architects Slattery & Associates with interiors by Steven G. Inc. — Emily Schmall
