Codina Partners added former Related Group vice president Oswaldo Betancourt to its roster as the Coral Gables-based firm expands its residential development division.

Betancourt will draw on this mix of experience to oversee Codina’s Downtown Doral project, a 120-acre master-planned community that includes more than 2,840 residential units, 180,000 square feet of retail, more than 1 million square feet of commercial space and an elementary school.

“Oswaldo’s deep understanding of the local real estate market coupled with his development expertise for both the public and private sector makes him uniquely suited for management of Downtown Doral and an all-around asset to Codina Partners,” Codina Partners’ chairman and chief executive Armando Codina said in a statement. — Emily Schmall
