Orlando-based private investment group Demeetree Real Estate Services, Inc. tapped the Miami office of Taylor & Mathis to help fill Douglas Centre, a 198,000-square-foot office building in Coral Gables that is more than a quarter vacant.

“We wanted a strong regional firm with extensive local ties to the South Florida market to help us quickly increase building occupancy,” Demeetree managing general partner Mike Wright said in a release.

“Douglas Centre is one of the best office values in Coral Gables,” said John O’Neil, a T&M managing director of leasing who will spear efforts at the 12-story office tower.

Demeetree purchased the building at 2600 Douglas Road late last year and is planning capital and cosmetic improvements to the building.

Including Douglas Centre, Taylor & Mathis handles leasing responsibilities for over a half million square feet of office space in Coral Gables, including 355 Alhambra and 550 Biltmore.
