Miami Beach apartment towers set for renovation

The Southgate Towers in Miami Beach are getting prepped for a $40 million renovation.

Apartment complex owner Gumenick Properties has hired architecture firm ADD to design the project, South Florida Business Journal reported. The two buildings at 900 and 910 West Avenue were constructed in 1960. Southgate has a total of 495 apartments.

Plans include a new blue and white facade, replacing balconies and aluminum screens and renovating common areas. Carpeting, tile, lighting fixtures, cabinets and windows are to be replaced inside the apartments.
