Miami home prices leap higher than nation’s

Two measures for the South Florida and U.S. market show home sale prices are on the rise.

At the end of 2013, the price of homes in Miami spiked 16.5 percent from a year earlier, according to an index by Case-Schiller, which covers Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Home prices for the rest of the U.S. rose 11.3 percent for the year in comparison, according to the S&P/Case-Schiller index, the Miami Herald reported. Experts predict that these price gains should level out in the coming year. [Miami Herald] — Angela Hunt
