The former Manalapan home of the late National Enquirer founder and publisher Generoso Pope is on the market once again, this time with a $30.5 million asking price.

Major renovations to the oceanfront mansion at 1370 South Ocean Boulevard are expected to be done by February 2015. Those upgrades could result in an asking price hike for the seven-bedroom, 32,000-square-foot house. Fite Shavell brokers Jack Elkins and Bunny Hiatt are the listing agents.

“This will be the largest spec house on the strip,” Elkins told the Coastal Star. “It has 300 feet on the oceanfront; the only house on that strip with more than that is the Vanderbilt estate. It also has 300 feet on the Intracoastal Waterway, which would allow dockage for a superyacht up to 150 feet.”

Patron Spirits CEO Ed Brown owns the property. Pope’s widow Lois, who bought a nearby home in May, sold 1370 South Ocean Boulevard for $15 million in 1999. [Coastal Star]Eric Kalis
