A battle between the mythological Greek pegasus and a dragon is being waged at Gulfstream Park and Casino with a $30 million price tag.

Weighing in at 473 tons, the bronze and steel pegasus statue stands victorious over its nemesis, a 242-ton dragon. Pegasus is the centerpiece of Pegasus Park, which is under construction and will feature a waterfall and extensive landscaping, according to published reports.

“Pegasus is a symbol of strength, elegance and good,” said Michael Stark, the project’s chief engineer, to the Sun Sentinel. The battle statue stretches 200 feet long and 110 feet tall. [Sun Sentinel]  Chris Guanche
