Work on the Eden Roc Miami Beach has started.

Newly-revealed plans include a high-profile new restaurant, new beachfront restaurant, an upgraded spa and gym and a hotel-within-the-hotel.

The Nobu hotel within the Eden Roc will be the second in the country, the Miami Herald reported. Executives behind the project have described it as a “multi-million dollar investment,” according to the paper.

The 58-year-old hotel was last renovated in 2008 for $240 million. The Eden Roc, located at 4525 Collins Ave., will stay open as it’s being renovated. [Miami Herald] – Katherine Kallergis
