Development board members face conflict tussles

Three members of Miami’s Downtown Development Authority, Nitin Motwani,
Jay Solowsky and Jerome Hollo, are facing potential fines for
conflicts of interest between their professional lives and their work
reshaping the city. The 15-member body is debating providing waivers on
various conflicts of interest, a move that could spark new criticism of
the taxpayer-funded body. Motwani is a principal in the Miami
Worldcenter project, approved by the city commission in November;
Solowsky, who left the development authority, seeks to represent the
group in a lawsuit; and Hollo, son of developer Tibor Hollo, is
involved in negotiations for a temporary park that will later become a
building project.
