Sen. Nelson seeks China’s help on drywall

Florida Senator Bill Nelson is pressing Chinese officials for more cooperation in investigations of tainted drywall that has affected residents of 29 states. Nelson, a Republican, has traveled to China as part of a group from the Senate Intelligence Committee. That trip was in advance of a delegation of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which is investigating hundreds of complaints from homeowners in Florida and other states. Nelson said he’s trying to convey the seriousness of the problem to Chinese officials and wants the issue to be discussed in planned meetings this fall between President Barack Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao.
