SF hotel occupancy jumps, but rates fall

Hotel Occupancy in Miami-Dade County improved to 84.9 percent last week,
up from 80.1 percent in the same period in 2010, although the average
room rate in the county fell to $184.51, down from $185.67, according to
STR, a research company. Palm Beach County saw its occupancy fall to
73.7 percent, and its average daily room rate fell to $170.06. In
Broward County, occupancy went up to 77.9 percent, and rates rose as
well, up to $127.20 from $122.54 the previous year. [SFBJ]
