PBSC’s fifth campus includes plans for Loxahatchee Groves shopping center

Atlantic Land Realty unveiled plans for a 91,000-square-foot shopping center on Palm Beach State College’s planned 75-acre fifth campus in Loxahatchee Groves, the Palm Beach Post reported.

The plans were part of a town discussion on the construction of the campus, which includes a lake on the north side of the development surrounded by an equestrian trail, and Atlantic Land’s shopping center.

The retail complex, slated for B Road and Southern Boulevard and tentatively called Loxahatchee Groves Commons, would include six different building groups and be anchored by a supermarket-like tenant. However, the town has long been opposed to a superstore such as Walmart, and the developers are keeping that in mind.

“I think they’re trying very hard to build a center that’s representative of the town,” Town Manager Mark Kutney said. [Palm Beach Post]
