Broward County tourism staying resilient, despite European debt troubles

Tourism in Broward County has not suffered from financial troubles in Europe, the Sun Sentinel reported. In fact, most European visitors to Broward tend to come from two countries: Germany, Europe’s strongest economy, and the United Kingdom, which is independent of Europe’s single currency. “We have not seen any of dip so far in tourism from Europe,” said Heiko Dobrikow, manager at the Riverside Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale. “It’s stable from last year.” Europe has made a mark on the area’s real estate market, although most foreign real estate investment in Broward is coming from Canada and Latin America.
