In the half-day since President Barack Obama clinched his reelection bid, The Real Deal took a look at what the real estate industry was thinking – via Twitter – as the hard-fought and sometimes exasperating presidential race came to an end. As always, the never-speechless Donald Trump delivered some of the evening’s liveliest tweets, while others, such as Miller Samuel’s Jonathan Miller and Nestseekers International’s Katriel Calderon, had  more of a sense of humor. Rubicon Property CEO Jason Haber celebrated, while Halstead Property agent Greg Kochanov became nauseated – but that’s politics.

Jason Haber, CEO of Rubicon Property

@jasonhaber

I had the high honor of pulling the rip chord on our balloon drop tonight at our #UWS election watch party. That was awesome!

House of Representatives shouldn’t give anything to Obama unless he terminates Obamacare.

The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.

Our nation is a once great nation divided!

Our country is now in serious and unprecedented trouble…like never before.

This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy!

Lets fight like hell and stop this great and disgusting injustice! The world is laughing at us.

Thought Elizabeth Warren of Mass had large mole on forehead but closer look – was piece of dried cereal on TV. Don’t ask. #election2012

Phew. Earlier bedtime than expected. And before FL. Hope I don’t wake up to a different result. Again.

Go! @BarackObama! Now END ‘fiscal cliff’ & remove the phrase from our vocabulary. Appoint Bill Clinton to a’reduce the deficit’ task force.

Early to draw poli-lessons, but if you’re a GOP candidate &have a theory on rape & abortion, maybe keep it to yourself?”

The line at my polling place is so long. How long is it? It is so long, I thought they were selling gasoline.

RT@FilthyRichmond: I wonder if Romney wouldn’t mind creating those 12 million jobs anyway, like as a contractor or something.

I failed. Step-son called at 10:10 pm and said, “well, Obama, won.” Damn, I really wanted to hold out until morning

OK. No more media, tonight. No election results until 6 am MST, tomorrow. I’m already feeling cranky
