Broward single-family prices up 16 percent

The median price of an existing single-family home in Broward County rose 15.9 percent in October to $211,000 compared to the same period in 2011, according to data released today by Greater Fort Lauderdale Realtors. The median sales price of an existing townhome-condominium rose 14.6 percent in the same period. “The year-over-year median price of Broward County residential housing has continued to strengthen while the decrease in the number of months’ supply of inventory and available inventory provides a support base for rising housing prices,” said Stephen McWilliam, president of Greater Fort Lauderdale Realtors. Single-family existing inventory fell 49.1 percent to 4,806 units in October. — Alexander Britell
