New York-based developer GDC Properties has broken ground on the NORA project, a six-story, 246-unit luxury rental development. The project, which was designed by Baker Barrios Architects, is located at 899 North Orange Boulevard in downtown Orlando’s North Quarter. It is slated to begin leasing next year. “Demand for rental apartments in downtown Orlando is surging as young professionals look to reduce their commutes and live in a walkable, 24-hour urban environment,” said Adam Ginsburg, co-chairman of GDC. — Alexander Britell
