Broward commissioners to vote on three projects

Broward County commissioners are set to determine the fate of three proposed developments during today’s meeting.

GBP Regency is seeking to raze a 60-room hotel at 2000 South Ocean Boulevard to make way for a 64-unit beachfront condo building, South Florida Business Journal reported. The company paid $10 million for the property three years ago and secured $12.5 million in financing from a pair of lenders.

In Pembroke Pines, Pines Crossing is proposing a 46,000-square-foot commercial building and 4,000-square-foot bank at Pines Boulevard and Southwest 184th Avenue. The company spent $2.1 million on the 6.9-acre site in 2011.

Also in Pembroke Pines, Discovery Schools wants to construct a 178,000-square-foot charter school at Griffin Road and Southwest 208th Avenue. If approved, the Franklin Academy would have students from grades six through 12. [South Florida Business Journal]Eric Kalis
