The new head of West Palm Beach’s Community Redevelopment Agency plans to pitch commissioners on a development blueprint for portions of the city with unrealized potential.

Jon Ward is slated to present the proposal to the commission when it meets Tuesday as the CRA board, the Palm Beach Post reported. Ward’s plan would require substantial zoning changes in certain neighborhoods on the north side of West Palm.

The proposal includes filling the area around the waterfront Currie Park with condos, offices, restaurants and shops. If carried out, the new development would connect Currie Park with the Northwood neighborhood.

Ward also maps out a new zoning game plan for the struggling Broadway corridor. He wants a concentration of multifamily development from 25th to 42nd streets, a mix of residential and commercial uses from 42nd to 47th streets and strictly commercial real estate from 47th to 59th streets.
