A vote on a proposed Marriott-branded hotel next to the Palm Harbor Marina was delayed by West Palm Beach commissioners for a fourth time.

The commission was scheduled to decide the fate of the 75-foot, 108-room hotel project on Monday. Instead, it will cast a vote during the Sept. 2 meeting. The developers once again sought the delay.

Residents of the adjacent Waterview Towers are opposed to the hotel as presently designed, according to the Palm Beach Post. The developers are trying to resolve those differences by meeting with the residents. Commissioners also made their concerns known when they approved the project in the first of two required votes on April 28.

The owner of the marina claims that two-thirds of the Waterview unit owners must approve any project higher than 75 feet on the Palm Harbor site. That is based on a 99-year lease the city granted the owner for the marina and hotel property in 1979. [Palm Beach Post]Eric Kalis
