The ultramodern house that inhabits the spot that used to belong to former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt just sold for $12 million.

Located at 219 Ocean Boulevard, the house was sold by Jill Hertzberg and Jill Eber (collectively known as “The Jills”) of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. Roosevelt’s former residence was referred to as the “Winter White House” and was torn down in 1994 to make room for a new house designed by New York architect Carlos Zapata.

The 8,000-square-foot waterfront estate has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, according to a news release. It also includes a full gym, theater, private beach, infinity edge pool and two-story guest house.

“Modern homes have gotten a great deal of attention from buyers this year from both our local and international clientele,” Eber said in the release. — Chris Guanche
