A private group of Mexican investors is gearing up to open their first bowling alley in South Florida: Strike 10 in the Village of Gulfstream Park.

The bowling alley will be housed in a newly constructed 15,000-square-foot building and is set to have its grand opening on April 1. It replaces seven storefronts that were demolished.

Moises Jafif, managing member of the company that owns the alley, Strike X, told The Real Deal that about two-thirds of the building will house the bowling lanes. The remaining space will have an upscale lounge and a 50-foot bar.

Jafif said the investors have an agreement with Gulfstream Park, which owns the land, to build and operate the alley.

The investors hail from Mexico City, where they own several bowling alleys and restaurants. Jafif told TRD that the group has operated in Florida for the past 14 years and owned the former La Valentina restaurant in Aventura Mall.

“Bowling is a beautiful business,” Jafif said. “We really tried to find the right place to do this. Everything has to be perfect for a bowling alley to go right.”
