Soho Bay, a Japanese restaurant chain that originated in Brazil, is making Miami Beach the home of its first location in the U.S.

Located at 520 West Avenue, the 12,000-square-foot restaurant will have indoor and outdoor seating for 200, cocktail and sushi bars, and a private boat dock for direct access.

The chain was started in 1998 by restaurateur Karine Queiroz, who opened the flagship location in Bahia, Brazil. Queiroz went on to open eight more restaurants and is set to launch the restaurant’s first U.S. outpost in Miami Beach on April 7, according to a press release.

Executive Chef Ricky Suari created the menu, which offers family style dishes such as braised beef cheeks in Japanese curry and house-made tofu with shiitake mushrooms. Dinner will be served from 6 p.m. to midnight, according to the release.

“We are proud to bring authentic Japanese cuisine fused with the flavors of Brazil to Miami Beach,” said Queiroz in a statement. “Soho Bay will feature a sophisticated menu, incorporating centuries of tradition while using the freshest catch of the day.”
