Contractors have filed building permits for most of the 110 available store locations at an outlet mall that Simon Property Group is developing in Pasco County, just north of Tampa, called Tampa Premium Outlets.

The largest tenant announced so far is a Saks Fifth Avenue discount store that will bear the “Off 5th” brand and will occupy 27,000 square feet. The building permit for a Gap outlet store indicates it will occupy 10,540 square feet.

Construction of Tampa Premium Outlets is scheduled for completion in late 2015, which would be about one year after construction started.

The outlet mall development is located in Wesley Chapel, near the interchange of I-75 and State Road 56.

Simon also is co-developing the retail portion of Brickell City Centre, a large mixed-use project in Miami’s financial district, and is undertaking a major renovation of the Dadeland Mall in Kendall.

Although some premium outlet malls feature upscale store brands such as A/X Armani Exchange, stores planned for Tampa Premium Outlets appear to be the type that sell standard fare available at most outlet malls. [Tampa Tribune] – Mike Seemuth
