Billionaire English lord Alan Sugar sells Boca mansion

Updated 11 a.m., Aug. 6: Billionaire, BBC star and consumer electronics magnate Alan M. Sugar and his wife Ann sold their Boca Raton mansion, Palm Beach County records show.

The Sugars sold their waterfront 13,623-square-foot home at 434 South Maya Palm Drive for a sweet $6.8 million.

Alan Sugar, who is worth an estimated $1.62 billion, founded the British consumer electronics company Amstrad, and sold his remaining stake in 2007. He is also known for his role in the BBC television series “The Apprentice,” where he serves as the British equivalent of Donald Trump.

The couple paid $1.585 million for the 0.67-acre Boca Raton property in 1999, according to Palm Beach County property records. The mailing address matches the city where he lives, Chigwell, Essex in the United Kingdom.

It features eight bathrooms and 11 bathrooms, according to a Zillow listing. It also includes fountain, pool and elevator.

The 434 South Maya Palm Drive Real Estate Fund, led by trustee Jeffrey A. Levine, was the buyer.
