But first they want Broward County to buy their homes at a fair price, claiming that the new runway would decimate their property values and make it difficult to find buyers. Commercial real estate firm Fairchild Partners has completed a $1
million renovation of Airport Commerce Park, an 80,000 square-foot
office complex near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Jose Juncadella, founder and principal of Miami-based Fairchild
Partners, said the company will also build a 10,000-square foot office
building on the site and complete it by the second quarter of 2010. It
will be designed according to the US Green Building Council’s LEED
standards. The complex would be one of the first to gain certification
in Dania Beach.
