  • Campaign to save Paramount Building

    July 29, 2010 09:45AM

Offers have come in from individuals, charities and a private
foundation, among others, to help save Palm Beach’s landmark Paramount
Building. “The majority of those responding are people in the community
who just love this building,” said Rev. Dwight Stevens of the Paramount
Church, which owns the 1927 building. “They love the historical
significance of it, and the fact that there are nine nonprofit
organizations in the building.” A meeting to organize efforts and raise
funds will be held Monday at 139 N. County Road, the site of the
building. The building has until Aug. 13 to meet requirements by Palm
Beach’s Code Enforcement Board, including fixing deteriorating wooden
    deck railings. [Palm
