The campers are back for developer GL Homes. The builder of the gated Valencia Pointe community west of Boynton Beach has drawn a small crowd of prospective buyers who are now camping on its lots in advance of a Friday sales wave for empty lots and furnished model homes. In the boom days, GL management says it wasn’t uncommon for 50-60 buyers to crowd its developments. While it’s not a return to the buying frenzy of 2005-06, it’s a sign some market niches are attracting strong interest.

Developer Cornerstone Group announced the completion of Valencia Pointe, a 148-unit rental project in Miami. The development at 7755 NW 27th Avenue is an affordable housing, work-live complex of 148 one-, two- and three-bedroom garden-style apartment homes, ranging in size from 625 to 1048 square feet and built within six residential buildings.
