Hines is a Houston-based property and facility management firm. Hines has the skill and knowledge to evaluate a property and create a strategy to maximize its value. Hines offers a full range of services to corporate and institutional real estate owners: asset management, property management, marketing/leasing, development/redevelopment, acquisition/disposition, finance/accounting and engineering. The firm has been in business for more than 50 years. In early 2015, Hines and its partner Diversified Real Estate Capital announced plans to break ground on a $134 million apartment development in Doral, near Miami.The project is a joint venture between the two firms, marking their second apartment development in South Florida. The two also developed Aviva Coral Gables, a 250-unit complex next to the Village of Merrick Park. The firm was founded by Gerald Hines in Houston in 1957. Since then, as a co-owner along with his son Jeffrey, he leads the firm's Executive Committee, participates in new business and investor relationships and advises the firm's regions on architectural excellence. He graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and later received an honorary doctorate from the school. Hines is a recipient of the J.C. Nichols Prize for Visionary Urban Development and an honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.  -GM
