Tommy Craig
Tommy Craig is a senior vice president of Hines, in charge of the developer’s New York region. The company, which is based in Houston, owns or manages several buildings in Manhattan, including 1585 Broadway, 383 Madison and 450 Lexington. In 2011 Craig told the New York Times, “my principal role is to think about value-creation opportunities, to manage risk, and to really advance the firm’s reputation in New York.” At that time he said the firm had, “close to 30 million square feet (in New York); we own about half. We may have assets that we developed as owners and subsequently sold.” In 2015, Frank McCourt’s MG Properties brought in Hines as an equity and development partner on 360 10th Avenue, a $3 billion, 733,000-square-foot mixed-use project on the Far West Side. Hines’ executive Tommy Craig said that the firm welcomed “the opportunity to expand our development work into the heart of Manhattan’s fastest growing new neighborhood.” The Houston-based firm’s other notable projects in New York include a 471,000-square-foot office tower at 7 Bryant Park and the 1,050-foot-tall Jean-Nouvel designed 53W53. -GM
