One Madison Park
One Madison Park is a luxury residential condo tower at 23 East 22nd Street, at the foot of Madison Avenue. The 60-story tower was originally best known for the troubled route it took to completion. It is now best known for the celebrities who have bought into it. Started in 2006 by a pair of novice developers from New Jersey hoping to cash in on the real estate boom, the tower became mired in lawsuits and financing troubles. It slid into bankruptcy in spring 2010, and condo sales stopped; the tower loomed as a symbol of the real estate crash. A consortium of creditors, including the  Related CompaniesCIM Group and  HFZ Capital Group, took control of the tower, finished it and repositioned it marketing-wise. Celebrities such as NFL quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen, have since bought condos there. Media magnate Rupert Murdoch bought One Madison Park's top four floors in early 2014 for $57.25 million.
