Upper West Side
Manhattan, NY 10024
Upper West Side
The Upper West Side is a neighborhood in Manhattan, bounded by 59th and 116th Street, Central Park, and the Hudson River. Two major cultural institutions, Columbia University to the north and Lincoln Center to the south, bookend the neighborhood. As a result, the Upper West Side has a reputation for being home to intellectuals. Many films written and directed by Woody Allen capture this atmosphere. Notable ñgrandî apartment houses located on the Upper West Side include the Ansonia, the Apthorp, The Dakota, and The Beresford. The residential housing stock also includes many townhouses. Contemporary residential developments include the Laureate at 2150 Broadway, The Aldyn at 60 Riverside Boulevard, The Rushmore at 80 Riverside Boulevard, and the Avery at 100 Riverside Boulevard. -GB
