John E. Waldron, a Goldman Sachs managing director, has purchased unit 5D at 15 Central Park West for $8.7 million, according to public records. The unit has 3,333 square feet. In March of last year, Goldman moved Waldron, who had been co-head of leverage finance, from New York to London to be co-head of its European financial sponsors group. The move prompted New York Magazine to run an article titled "Are We No Longer the World's Financial Capital?" Waldron became a director in 2001. Another London-based investment banker, David Bizer of Lehman Brothers, has purchased unit 24C for $5.3 million. Bizer, Lehman's head of European fixed income sales, bought a 1,745-square foot two-bedroom unit. TRD
