Turkish billionaire buys at Plaza

Turgay Ciner, a self-made Turkish billionaire, has purchased a condo at the Plaza for $9.16 million, according to city records posted today. Ciner, named one of the world's richest people by Forbes magazine, owns electric power plants and copper, aluminum and soda ash mines in Turkey. His media company Merkez Magazine Group, a division of the Ciner Media Group, is one of Turkey's largest magazine publishers. It publishes the Turkish editions of Forbes and Newsweek magazines. TRD
