Bonuses buoy East End sales

From the February issue: Wall Street bonus announcements brought especially good tidings to one real estate market: the East End of Long Island. The ritzy vacation spot that serves as a summer playground for Gotham's rich saw a bump in the month after bonus announcements were made, according to a number of local brokers. Diane Saatchi, senior vice president of the Corcoran Group in East Hampton, said, "2006 was a record year for sales over $10 million and $20 million. Some of those buyers worked on Wall Street, so I suspect there will be even more sales above $10 million in 2007, in part because of the large bonuses." more By Rachel Deahl
