I think that this opinion is wrong, the Hamptons always doing good and even great in the summer and prices are going to go up soon, the stock market had some effect on the real estate in the Hamptons to the point of everyone stop looking to buy in this time, but... everyone is still checking the market every day not to miss anything, makes you think...... with this in mind look at the history of the Hamptons so far prices are still up there and not effected as much as every other place in the country,

Uri, check in bro! All the NYC people that did not work on wall street are screwed which is what happens when you try to keep up with the jones's. while the wall street crowd may have paid cash (many of these apes are levered up too) the hoi polloi put their 20% down with money they took out of their primary residence in manhattan. lot's of these people had sub-prime loans (or something close). Now that their primary residence is being devalued on a daily basis they are getting margin-called. the first thing to go will be the house out east. you know what happens when everyone tries to puke their assets and there are no buyers around? that's right. firesale!! let's hope there will not be rioting in the streets like there will be in eastern europe!
