Christian college takes space at 330 Fifth Avenue

The private Christian Kings College has signed
a 10-year lease at 330 Fifth
Avenue, at 33rd Street, for 11,800 square feet, which occupies the entire eighth
floor.
Jim Wenk, a senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, who represented the college, said after looking for a space for about six months, the school chose 330 Fifth Avenue because it is adjacent to its main location in the Empire State Building.
The school, which was founded in 1938 and focuses on Christian studies, occupies about 50,000 square feet in the Empire State Building, and its new space next door will primarily house faculty and administrative offices. The school was only looking for space within a five-block radius of the Empire State Building, and liked 330 Fifth Avenue because the floor was already partially built out, with bathrooms, air conditioning and lighting.
Christian Kings College is currently renovating the rest of the floor, and plans to move in in late January. Wenk said they are paying in the "upper $40s" per square foot in rent. Another floor currently on the market in the building has an asking rent of $48 per square foot.
"It's a great [opportunity] for the college," Wenk said. "It will allow them to expand their faculty and staff in an adjacent building to create a campus environment."
