FiDi biggest Lower Manhattan neighborhood

The Financial District is the fastest growing area in Lower Manhattan, and will overtake Tribeca and Battery Park to become the area's most populous neighborhood, according to a report by Manhattan borough president's office. The report predicts the number of people living in the Financial District will double by 2013, bringing the FiDi population up to 27,829 people. Long-time residents are afraid the growth will make the neighborhood noisy, overcrowded and unaffordable.  [Downtown Express]
